Notice on Change of Organic Certificate Numbering System in the EU

In accordance with EU Regulation (EU) 2021/848, the format of the EU organic certificate has been standardized and a unique identification system for certified operators has been established.

As a result, the method of indicating the certification number on organic products imported into the EU will be completely revised.

• Previous system: Certification Body Code + Operator Code

• New system: ISO Country Code (3 digits) + Operator Serial Number (7 digits)

After a transition period, only the new certification number format will be accepted starting from April 1, 2024.
